Last Sunday, (April 25th 2021) we were invited to attend a small memorial service at Cherry Gardens to remember the landing at Anzac Cove and our Anzac soldiers at Gallipoli. We would like to commend the Committee on conducting a moving and reflective ceremony that encompassed all of the Anzac Story and extended to include all Service Personnel who have given their lives in action.

It is also very encouraging to see how many locals and general community use the Rec Ground and facilities on a regular basis. Please remember that it is a community facility and not owned by the council. Our community owns the place and volunteers run it and pay for everything.

Since our local fires of January, we have been operationally very quiet although our Operations Support team is always on the go supporting communications for the larger Sturt Group. This does not mean from a firefighting perspective we have not been busy – it allows time to train, improve our skills and make improvements.

Unlike last season where our moddies could not win a game so far this season they have had 6 wins and Matt, the Moddies Coach, will shave his head down to the skin - including beard and eyebrows - if the kids win 10 of the 12 games this season...
