ANZAC Day Wednesday, 25 April

In Australia, single poppies are not usually worn on ANZAC Day - the poppy belongs to Remembrance Day, 11 November. However, wreaths of poppies are traditionally placed at memorials and honour boards on ANZAC Day.

John McCrae was a Canadian doctor and teacher who started writing poetry at an early age. “In Flanders Fields”, his second last poem, was composed at the battlefront on May 3rd, 1915, during the second battle of Ypres, in a region called Flanders.
