Are you interested in nature? Native plants? Wildlife? Looking for a break from the hustle and bustle? Want to give something back to the community or Mother Nature? We invite you all to come along to our open day on Sunday 13th October, between 10am and 3pm behind the Almanda mine car park on Dorset Vale Road.
This is our fourth annual open day, but the first that we have held in spring. This is to ensure visitors get the opportunity to see more of the beautiful native wildflowers of the Park, which are more abundant at this time of the year.
There will members of the Friends group on hand to answer questions, with a food and drink stall provided by the local Scott Creek Primary School. Once again there will be a self-guided walk along Almanda Creek and around Almanda Swamp. John Wamsley has prepared a handout with plant names and fascinating information about these and other items of interest you will see along the way. These are numbered to match labels that will be placed along the walking trail.
