Free household chemical and paint drop-off

The next event is being held on Saturday 17 November, 9am-3pm at our Field Operations Centre, Seaford Meadows (access via Eric Road).

This free drop-off service is provided for householders and farmers (not businesses) to dispose of unwanted household chemicals and paint safely and responsibly and is being run in conjunction with Green Industries SA and Paintback,

Household chemicals can be dangerous if not stored or disposed of safely. If dumped, they can contaminate the ground and water. Visit www.greenindustries.sa.gov.au for accepted chemicals.

Important: medical waste has specific licensing and management requirements and is not part of this collection

Smoke Detector Batteries

Remember to replace your smoke alarm batteries when you move your clocks forward on Sunday 7 October. Non-alkaline batteries cannot be placed in kerbside bins, but you can recycle them at any council office, library and several community centres. Click here for more information. Smoke detectors also need to be replaced after 10 years and can be placed in the Unplug N Drop cages around the council region with other e-waste.
