Recreation Ground
As reported on the front page the Recreation Ground is very happy to have been granted funding by the State Government under their Grassroots program to build new changerooms for our sporting clubs. The current changerooms have been identified for several years as being undersize for all sports and non-compliant for women’s footy and netball players and badly in need of significant upgrade or replacement.
With this grant funding, matched by the Onkaparinga Council, we will be able to build a new facility and provide really good changerooms for all our players whatever age or gender.
We are extremely grateful to have our needs recognized and acted on.
We now have to get down to the task of getting the project underway. Stay tuned for more details as they come to hand!
It is good to see that while our club has to remain closed and no sport played at least the community is using the Recreation Ground to gather in small numbers, exercise the dog and keep fit.
SPORTS CLUBS
With the COVID-19 situation all sports are currently not able to train or play. There is talk of an easing of the lockdown and in line with the advice from the government and peak sporting bodies, our clubs will remain on hold and ready to commence training and possibly games as instructed by our leagues.
CRICKET CLUB NEWS
The Cricket Season was cut short due to COVID-19 and we were unable to hold a presentation for our teams and players. As a substitute each coach put together some information about the season and the players and posted on our facebook page.
