2018 Council Elections
Participating in your local Council election is one of the most direct ways you can make a difference to everyday life in your community. While it is not compulsory to vote in council elections it does give you an opportunity to get the right people in to the council to represent you and our community.
The next Onkaparinga Council elections will take place in November 2018.
Timetable Rolls Close: 5pm Friday 10 August 2018
Nominations open: Tuesday 4 September
Nominations close: 12 noon Tuesday 18 September
Mail out of voting materials: Monday 22-Friday 26 October
Close of voting: 5pm Friday 9 November
As a result of the 2017 Elector Representation Review please note that you will be voting for the following composition and structure for the City of Onkaparinga in the 2018 Council elections:
The principal member of Council will be a Mayor elected by the community.
The elected body of Council will comprise the Mayor and twelve (12) ward councillors.
The Council area will be divided into six wards.
Each ward will be represented by two (2) ward councillors.
The wards will be identified as Mid Coast, Knox, Pimpala, Thalassa, Southern Vales and South Coast. Cherry Gardens is in the Thalassa ward.
