The Cherry Gardens CFS Air Support

The Cherry Gardens Air Support team was one of the first to be set up in SA to load water into the Water Bomber Aircraft that are now used extensively throughout SA to assist in the knock down of fires.

The Cherry Air Support team is looking for more volunteers.

If you are an active retiree or someone that is a local, and you are in the district during daytime hours and would like to assist our team, then please check out what we do and see if this might be something that you can be involved with.

We are based at the Cherry Gardens airstrip which is located just off Frith Road, and our role is to fill the water bomber aircraft when they are fighting a fire in our region. We do not have a lot of fires in our region (fortunately) so the workload is not high however we need more people to put up their hands and offer a small amount of their time.

We will provide all necessary training and PPE (volunteer uniform, gloves, ear protection etc.) and a pager.

If you would like to organise a look at the facilities you can contact Graham (0407 388 844).

If you are interested in volunteering then please contact Angus (0407 712 133), John (0422 898 414) or Graham to discuss.
Thanks.
