Cricket Club

It sneaks up on you....

Believe it or not, we're already a month into the cricket season, it really sneaks up on you. Just to quickly bring everyone up to speed, we've entered two senior teams again however, with some of our more senior players being unavailable for major parts of the year, we've decided to drop to the B Grade. It is a positive move as it allows us to play the teenagers in our team in more prominent roles and build their confidence, from which we've seen results already. We are fully committed to being back in the A Grade competition next season!

Our C Grade again looks to be one of the front runners in that grade and we're happy to say we've got two junior teams this season, an Under 12 and Under 14. This is really a promising move for the future of the club.

And lastly, thanks to signing up to the newsletter, it will only be sent sparingly so don't worry about being bombarded. We will include some throwbacks to yesteryear and some player profiles for a bit of a laugh too.

A reminder that meals are at the club every Thursday night and we now have Foxtel installed so there’ll always be something on. See you at the club!

Installed in the first week of November, much to everyone's joy, was our new permanent pitch matting. Thanks to a small SACA grant and some club fundraising, gone are the days of players or junior parents rolling out and rolling up the heavy mats. It look's great and is there all year round for us to utilise. Hopefully it has a long life and gives us a more true grass type pitch experience.

Community Christmas Show

This year on Saturday December 15th the Cricket Club is holding a T20 Double Header and this will be immediately followed by a Community Christmas Show complete with a visit from Santa for the kids. At the same time we will be holding a brief ceremony to open the new extension to the playground and fitness area.

Everyone in the community is welcome to come along, watch a bit of T20 cricket and enjoy the Christmas cheer, and share some time with others from the community. We send out the invitation to everyone and hope that locals come along and join in.

This event will run a bit later than the Community Christmas Show that used to be on Sundays due to the cricket games but with daylight saving should still work for families.

We expect that the T20 games should be over by around 6pm and once they are over the oval will be available for everyone to use and then Santa will arrive.

Hope to see you there!
